Counselling Psychologist
I am a Counselling Psychologist, Mentalization Based Treatment practitioner and Interpersonal Psychotherapist with 25 years of experience working in the NHS and voluntary sector. I am clinical lead for NHS specialist services for peple with complex emotional needs in West Sussex. I have worked in a broad range of psychological therapy services; from providing counselling in GP surgeries and a bereavement service, to working as a psychologist for a community mental health team, hospital-based psychotherapy services and an internationally recognised specialist residential psychotherapy service. I have been providing training and supervision for qualified and trainee psychological practitioners for nearly 20 years and am experienced in leading NHS services.

I offer time-limited short-term work to therapy lasting a number of years. We can meet in person (in my consulting room near East Grinstead) or online. I work integratively, drawing on different psychological approaches (psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive). I also provide Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Mentalization Based Therapy. I will work with you to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties that have brought you to therapy. We will use this understanding to plan how we work together.

I have supervised a wide range of practitioners of psychological therapy since 2008, from trainee Clinical and Counselling Psychologists and Interpersonal Psychotherapists, to established qualified psychologists and psychotherapists. I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in the Fundamentals of Supervision in 2011, and trained as an Interpersonal Psychotherapy Supervisor in 2014
